Rules for the Alpine Summits diplomas

Introduction

The SOTA Group Switzerland diplomas described in this document have been designed to reward activations and connections on Swiss mountains.

The following diplomas can be obtained:

  • Activator diploma
  • Chaser diploma

The diplomas are open to all radio amateurs and SWLs, whereby SWLs can only achieve the Chaser diploma.

Diploma levels

Both diplomas are divided into the following three levels:

Alpine rose20 different peaks between 2000 – 2999 m above sea level. M.
Gentian10 different peaks between 3000 – 3999 m above sea level. M.
Edelweiss1 summit from 4000 m a.s.l. M.

The diplomas must be completed in order, which means that you ultimately need 31 peaks for the Edelweiss diploma.

The general rules of the SOTA UK program apply.

Diploma application

The application for a diploma can be made directly via the SOTA Group Switzerland website.

Diploma authorization

Only the logs in the SOTA database are valid for diploma authorization. There is NO need to send in QSL cards.

Costs

The diplomas are free of charge for members of the SOTA Group Switzerland.

Non-members receive the diplomas for a fee of CHF 10 each. After applying for a diploma, the fee must be transferred to the account of the SOTA Group Switzerland as follows:

Diploma issue

The respective diploma will be sent to the applicant in electronic form as a PDF by e-mail after receipt of the contribution towards expenses.
