Regulations for the Alpine Summits Award
Introduction
The awards of the Swiss SOTA Group described in this document have been created to encourage and reward activations and QSOs on Swiss alpine summits.
The following awards can be achieved:
- Activator award
- Chaser award
The awards are available to all ham radio operators and SWLs, although SWLs can only obtain the Chaser award.
Award levels
Both awards fall into three categories:
Alpenrose | 20 different summits between 2000 and 2999 m.a.s.l. |
Enzian | 10 different summits between 3000 and 3999 m.a.s.l. |
Edelweiss | 1 summit above 4000 m.a.s.l. |
The awards must be reached in order, i.e. in the end 31 summits are needed for the Edelweiss award.

The general rules of the SOTA UK program apply.
Applying for an award certificate
Participants can apply for award certificates directly on the Swiss SOTA Group website.
Award authorization
Award authorization is based solely on the logs in the SOTA database. No QSL cards must be posted.
Costs
Award certificates are issued to members of the Swiss SOTA Group at no charge.
Non-members pay an amount of CHF 10.00 to cover the cost of processing. Once an award has been applied for, this amount is to be transferred without any extra request by HB9SOTA via PayPal (pay@hb9sota.ch).
Award certificate distribution
Each award certificate is prepared as a PNG image file and is sent to the applicant via email.
